Paint what you feel

I went to China, Tibet and Hong Kong this past Spring...and for the life of me, I can't paint anything from the trip.

I LOVED all of it.....maybe it was TOO MUCH to let into my head....it feels like it sometimes.

I have 800 photos......

Very interesting blog, Pam!
I know what you mean by not being able to paint China...it's very difficult to paint things and places that are not part of our life.

Pam - I do sympathise - it feels so odd. I don't know if it's any consolation to know that it took me nearly 20 years to do a painting of the boats in Singapore Harbour - although I always knew I would one day. See if you recognise Singapore Boats at http://www.pastelsandpencils.com/water.html

I think you just have to let some places settle into your brain very gradually - keep looking at the photos and remembering. Maybe make a note of those images which had most impact on you at the time?
